Before digging into creating automation flow, let’s understand some sales funnel basics and automation.
Let’s get started!
What is Sales Funnel Automation
Sales funnel automation creates a full-proof flow to convert your audience into paying customers.
In the automation flow, your business works on an automation pilot.
How Sales Funnel Automation Works?
Sales funnel automation is relatively straightforward.
- You encourage your audience to share their email id in exchange for a free product/service (Lead Magnet).
- Your audiences provide their email id to access the lead magnet (e.g., eBook or Mini-Course).
- The lead magnet automatically delivers upon confirmation of email id.
- After delivering the free lead magnet, the email sequence starts working.
An email sequence is a set of various emails that covers branding, consideration and conversion.
Why Sales Funnel is Important
Good question! If you want to boost your sales, you should adopt digital marketing. And in digital marketing, the sales funnel puts your business in automation mode, which means more sales and conversion.
Let’s take an example – You want to put your audiences into sales funnel;
You want to give a free eBook to your potential customers if they share their email You decided to give a free eBook to your potential customers in exchange for their email ids. So, You have to send the free eBook manually if you don’t have an automation system. And honestly, nobody wants to put this extra effort and time into boarding work.
So the solution is “Build Funnel Automation System” to save time and effort. With the help of automation, Your lead magnet (eBook) will be delivered automatically upon completion of registration form in landing page. It does not matter when the customer is filling out the form.
Before creating the funnel, Lets understand first the customer journey or funnel stages;
Many beginners do not have a good idea of funnel stages. Or sometimes they don’t even consider it. Understanding funnel stages or steps are essential. The funnel stages are designed to deliver the right message to the right time and right people.
There are 3 stages in the funnel system. Now let’s understand the funnel stages
The awareness stage is the first stage in the funnel. At this stage, you try to attract new audiences to your brand.
You want to sell your high ticket course, So the first step should be to focus on branding. You can create social media campaigns, blog posts, YouTube videos, and Instagram reels to deliver your branding message and a bit of you and your course.
Remember! Don’t try to pitch your premium course at all to those audiences who are new for your business.
The first priority must be brand awareness.
Now in the awareness stage you should try to send your audience to a landing page, where you promise to deliver a free eBook or course (depending on your final products).
Please Note: Your lead magnet must be aligned with your final premium products. Otherwise your potential audience would never convert into customers.
All consumers consider multiple brands before purchasing. Now the thing is, you should focus on delivering the right marketing message to your audience so that they can also compare you with some other brands.
You can start running campaigns on social media related
- Your course benefits
- Why you are best
- Show some case study and existing customer reviews and feedback
If you put an audience into your email list, you can start sending such types of emails, so that your audience can consider you before buying.
Conversion is the final stage in funnel automation. Your audience converted into customers at this stage. According to my experience, I found this conversion stage is too challenging for many.
You can implement my conversion techniques;
- Offer a discount (e.g., 10% OFF)
- Create urgency (e.g., Discount will expire in next 24 hours)
- Create double urgency (e.g., Discount will expire and the original price will be increase soon in this week)
Now it’s time to put all this planning into an automation system.

Once you create a funnel, a new window will open with 2 steps, Squeeze and thank you page. Squeeze page is the place where the audience gives their email and name to download/or get access to the lead magnet.
Designing squeeze pages is very simple in system.io. You can design from scratch by drag and drop method or you can also select ready made templates.
Now it’s time to do a little bit of customization in ready made templates. Follow these steps given in the image below and move to the next step.
The squeeze page editor is very simple. You don’t need coding skill to modify the page. Simply you can replace the existing headlines, text and images with your own.
Now you can modify the squeeze by drag and drop method. The systeme io offers front-end designing method that means you can customize landing page without coding.
Step 3: Setup Thank You Page
Thank you page gives an acknowledgement to the audience after the successful lead form filling. You can design the thank you page like the same process of squeeze.
Again, you can re-design the thank you page. Make sure to write the right message for your audience. Example: Thank you for subscribing, check your inbox and download the free eBook.
Step 4: Create important Tag
After creating your funnel (Squeeze and thank you page) it’s time to create some necessary tags. The tags are used to filter all subscribers segment wise.
To create a tag, hover the mouse on the contact tab and then click on Tag.
Now Give a name e.g., free ebook subscribers
Step 5: Create email campaign: A set of multiple emails
Email campaign in systeme is basically a set of multiple emails that you send to your subscribers one by one (or in sequential order).
To create email campaigns, hover over the email and then click on campaigns.
Now you click on the “Add an email” tab and you can add multiple emails.
In the email campaign you can draft and publish various emails like;
- Welcome Email with eBook Delivery
- Ask for feedback after 2 days
- Ask for a review after 1 day
- Share a case study
- Pitch your premium course/products/services
- Follow up emails
- Offer emails
- And so on.
Here is an example of welcome email with lead magnet. This email will be send automatically the subscribers upon sign up.
Step 6: Build automation workflow
Now it’s time to build your automation workflow. Hover your mouse over Automation and click on workflow.
Give a name and save it. Now you have to select the trigger to start the automation flow.
Now click on “Create your first trigger”. Trigger is nothing but first step where your funnel starts.
Once you click the button, a new window will be open. Select Funnel form subscribed option and then select funnel that you have created earlier. (refer below image)
Now click on plus icon (as shown in below image) to get workflow forward.
Now select another action here. Apply a Tag is better. Once a subscriber signed up for the eBook, a Tag (e.g., eBook Subscribers) will be applied automatically. See the below image for ref.
Now again click on the green plus icon to add email campaigns in workflow automation.
Now you can save and exit. You can also increase the funnel steps depending on user behavior but for this demonstration, Let me keep only three steps. Your final systeme io workflow looks like below image;
Step 7: Run your campaign
Now you share this funnel link with your audience. You add the link into your Instagram bio or you can run a Facebook campaign also.
